Ian Arber

Ian Arber’s rapid rise in the film and television industry is underpinned by his bold and multi-faceted approach to musical world-building - writing memorable themes set in a fusion of traditional, electronic and experimental instrumentation.
In early 2024, Ian scored ITV’s most watched drama of the year, Red Eye, produced by Bad Wolf and starring Richard Armitage and Jing Lusi. Shortly after his work on Red Eye, Ian co-scored StudioCanal’s revamp of the “Has Fallen” franchise, Paris Has Fallen, with Blur’s Dave Rowntree. Towards the end of the year, Ian wrote additional music for Universal movie, “Wolf Man”. Other works include the BBC’s most viewed new drama of 2019, The Capture, Netflix’s DNA-matching viral hit The One, season 3 of MGM+ War of The Worlds, and award-winning feature films Bolan’s Shoes, and The Stranger in Our Bed.
Ian is inspired by collaboration, working closely with filmmakers to create a truly original concept and musical language for each project. A classically-trained cellist and pianist, and collector of exotic instruments, Ian often incorporates these in his scores in unconventional ways, blurring the lines between traditional and modern experimental techniques. He relishes the opportunity to create a powerful and productive working relationship with filmmakers, maximizing the collaboration to produce distinct work.
